Welcome (or bienvenido in Spanish) to Casa Espánada. Casa Espánada is a beautiful Spanish Villa located in “La Loma del Castillo”, an “urbanización” of Chiva, Comunitat Valencia, Spain. Built in 1978 by Pepe and Adela to escape the summer heat in the city, it is now our permanent residence and base of operations. Our home and surrounding area are the inspiration for this site. Here we hope to document our journey and captures the essence of all that we love about this beautiful country. Costa Blanca Mini Vacation
Like many in Spain during the hot days of summer, we decided to take a trip to the beach for some much needed rest and relaxation. Setting out from Casa Espanada for what we thought would be a day trip, we set our sites on the beaches of Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante. Spanish Lessons
So you’ve realized how wonderful Spain is and start your planning to visit in person. Knowing how to speak the language will make this so much easier. While many in the tourist areas can speak English, you will be much better prepared if you can at least communicate the basics. It helps to know some survival phrases and locals will certainly respect it if you at least attempt to communicate in their native tongue. This is where Spanish lessons will be a huge help. Overlooking fields of olives and almonds with the Sierra Chiva range in the skyline, Casa Espanada is a haven of peace and relaxation surrounded by some of the quintessential attractions and activities this country has to offer.
