Welcome (or bienvenido in Spanish) to Casa Espánada. Casa Espánada is a beautiful Spanish Villa located in “La Loma del Castillo”, an “urbanización” of Chiva, Comunitat Valencia, Spain.

Built in 1978 by Pepe and Adela to escape the summer heat in the city, it is now our permanent residence and base of operations.

Our home and surrounding area are the inspiration for this site. Here we hope to document our journey and captures the essence of all that we love about this beautiful country.

Our desire is to share a sample of Spanish life, history, natural history and culture using our experiences as a foundation.

If you were wondering, “Espánada” (pronounced esPAnada) comes from a fusion of our two counties, España and Canada.
